American Medical Association & COVID-19 Policy Recommendations

Recently, the American Medical Associated provided policy recommendations to help guide policymakers reduce the stress being experienced by patients with an opioid use disorder (OUD) and pain during the COVID-19 pandemic. These guidelines also support ongoing harm reduction efforts in communities across the United States.

  1. Ensuring access to care for patients with an opioid use disorder
  2. Protecting patients with pain
  3. Harm reduction to help prevent overdose and spread of infectious disease
