Aly became an enthusiastic supporter of harm reduction during her studies as a Bachelor’s of Social Work student at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She became acquainted with the North Carolina Survivors Union as an intern and assisted with its Beyond Tested: Cured group before joining NCSU’s staff at the very end of 2019. As Advocacy Coordinator, she is spending 2020 advocating for better drug-related policies at both institutional and state-wide levels, including work to promote reproductive/ birth justice for parents who use drugs.
