Zach is the public health research assistant for the North Carolina Survivors Union (NCSU). He completed his Bachelor of Science in Health Education at the University of Florida, and his Master of Public Health (MPH) at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. During his graduate studies, he realized harm reduction is his true calling. He went on to conduct independent research into best practices funded by a summer assistantship in 2019 and served as an intern for NCSU in the spring of 2020, where he was soon hired. His passion lies in understanding how the social determinants of health impact behavior. He is an advocate for sensible drug policy, as well as primary preventative efforts towards drug overdose, including drug testing and checking.
